Jab Counter Support
Frequently Asked Questions & Contact
Which hand should I wear my watch on?
For accurate tracking, wear your Apple Watch on your lead hand (the hand you jab with). If you are an Orthodox boxer, wear it on your left. If you are a Southpaw, wear it on your right.
Does Jab Counter track hooks and uppercuts?
Yes. Jab Counter detects any significant strike thrown by the lead hand, including hooks and uppercuts.
Note: Specialized punch-type classification is currently being explored for future updates.
Can I track my other hand (e.g. my right cross)?
Jab Counter is a single-device utility. Because the sensors are located inside your Apple Watch, only the hand wearing the device can be tracked.
We focus on the lead hand because it is the primary engine of a boxer's work rate. Monitoring your jab volume provides the most critical insight into your activity and fatigue levels during a round.
How do I close my Activity Rings?
Ensure you have granted Jab Counter permission to write to Apple Health. Every session is logged as a "Boxing" workout, contributing your heart rate and active calories directly to your Move and Exercise rings.
Is Jab Counter free?
Yes. Basic lead-hand tracking and HealthKit integration are free. We believe every boxer should have access to their volume and work-rate data without subscriptions.
